Mitchell Cheah, the youngest driver in the Vios Challenge, has been a phenomenon that has caught the attention of many scouts since he started racing activities as a kid.

His humble journey first began as a kid following his dad to go-karting events. Since then, he picked up the sport and started racing in go-kart events until he turned 17 when he took to circuit racing in the Malaysian Championship Series. With the help of his mentor Wai Leong, Mitchell started his professional racing career under his mentor’s wing; refining and sharpening his racing techniques, guiding him toward the path of becoming a champion racer.

Even as a young driver, Mitchell expressed his passion of racing was due to the competitiveness of racing against other top drivers, which was what challenged him to winning every race. The fairplay format of the Vios Challenge has been giving him an equal platform to improve on both his mental and physical fortitude.

Currently racing under Team Dream Chaser in the Vios Challenge, Team Coach CY Ong recognized Mitchell as a unique racer due to his formative years in karting and racing experience across Malaysia prior to joining the Vios Challenge. CY also shared that the Vios Challenge was a refreshing new take on the motorsport scene in Malaysia. It helps in providing racing teams a platform to encourage the development of young local talents such as Mitchell on a One Make Race format where everyone is driving the same car.

Expressing his disappointment in this Vios Challenge where he was forced to retire due to a crash incident, Mitchell still remained positive and ever committed to practicing even more for the final race, from 24-25 March at Technology Park Bukit Jalil!
